Last week All Saints' was honored to host part of the annual conference of AAM (Association of Anglican Musicians), with 350 organists/choirmasters in attendance from around the country. We were especially honored to host a service of Morning Prayer for Justice and Human Rights, led by our own Natosha Reid-Rice. Music was crafted and provided by Dr. Carl Haywood, one of the editors of our LEVAS hymnal, and writer of Martin's Song, heard here. "Blessed Martin, pastor prophet, you the mountaintop did see; Blessed Martin, holy martyr: pray that we may all be free."

Chick Corea is our Jazz Artist of the Month.
Born June 12, 1941, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Corea was a groundbreaking pianist, composer, and arranger whose career spanned jazz, fusion, and classical music. Influenced by artists like Bud Powell, Dizzy Gillespie, Mozart, and Beethoven, he developed a distinctive style that helped redefine modern jazz.

Corea gained recognition performing with legends, including Miles Davis, before forming the influential fusion group Return to Forever in 1971. With albums like Romantic Warrior and No Mystery, the group became one of the defining acts of the jazz fusion movement.

Throughout his career, Corea composed iconic jazz standards such as “Spain,” “La Fiesta,” and “Windows,” earned 23 Grammy Awards, and continued exploring new musical directions through both acoustic and electric ensembles. His innovative artistry and lasting impact continue to inspire generations of musicians around the world.
