Co-founded by Hayley Brown & Lyssa Hoganson, Mirth is determined to live up to its name and bring joyful, silly, & accessible Shakespeare to the RoleCall stage at Ponce City Market. Mirth Theatre was founded by Hayley Brown & Lyssa Hoganson during the height of the global coronavirus pandemic. With influences like clowning, Bertolt Brecht, Frantic Assembly's devised movement techniques, Dr. Seuss,
films like Wet Hot American Summer, & the vocal stylings of Sean Connery, you never know exactly what Mirth is going to bring to the stage, but you know it's going to be fun. As a part of RoleCall Theater's Shakespeare in the Ponce series, they have so far brought their unstuffy & very silly sensibilities to Twelfth Night (fall 2020) & Much Ado About Nothing (spring 2021). After performing in Mirth's first two shows, Evan Fields joined the producing team in the spring of 2021, & will be lending his strengths to the leadership side of Mirth for the remainder of the season. Mirth's next shows will be Two Gentlemen of Verona (spring 2021), The Tempest (summer 2021), & The Taming of the Shrew (fall 2021), all hosted by RoleCall Theater at Ponce City Market.
