JLIA Theatre students learned the art of filming a monologue for a virtual Theatre audition with an IPhone for our last project of the year. They got creative with different angles and learned how to film a monologue and informational segments. Actors: Always keep your head up and give your best eye contact to the camera as if it is the character you’re speaking to. Behind the camera: Keep it simple and make the actor stand out.

Angles learned :
Extreme Wide (context), Wide (full body), Medium (waist-up, for dialogue), Close-up (emotions), and Extreme Close-up (details). Specialized shots: Cowboy (thigh-up), High-Angle, Dutch Tilt

Me at age 17, a junior in High school, my first time in a play as Cha Cha Degregorio in Grease and in an acting competition which got me a partial scholarship to NC A&T. My Theatre teacher saved my life and I’m grateful to live my life creating onstage and behind the scenes as a Professional Theatre artist 🎭🎭🎭
