Cortney DeAngelo It feels like someone is playing a really f'ed up joke. This vivacious, charismatic, KIND, loving human that both attacked life and loved with the same gusto cannot be gone.

She wasn't just a part of our community for me- She was an embodiment of the kind of heart we all want in our community. She practiced love in not just words, but action.

The kicker is, I just changed my screensaver to a picture of us working together last week. I kept saying, "You know? I'm gonna call her.. She has been on my mind.. let me call her a little later.."
Later never came and now it's too late.

So I will try to remember her for being our Fourth mama, in Mamalogues, My Stern Russian instructor in Blerd, My fiercely funny friend who would warm up with me before shows and My Warrior Viking Goddess- who consistently turned up for her friends with love, grace and the fierce fires of Surtr's Muspelheim.

I know many of us are feeling less light in this world. She was intensly loved by those she knew and those who knew her.

Sweet Dreams to you my friend and large hugs will be given when we meet on the other side.

🎉NEWS ALERT: I am so honored and excited to announce that out of hundreds of applicants, Tales of a Blerd Ballerina has been chosen to perform a 30-minute excerpt at the 31st Annual Festival of the LA Women's Theatre Festival.
Chosen by the LAWTF Members and Honorary Chairpersons Danny Glover and Hattie Wilson, I am more than proud that this story about a nerdy black child's journey of self-discovery keeps finding a new audience. I could not be more grateful to everyone who has had a hand in this piece of love. Hope to see my friend's new and classic in LA!🎉
