Happy Thursday! Meet Tav!
Since his arrival in Atlanta one year ago, Tavish Daly has found employment as the principal trombonist of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and the Director of Operations with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra. Tavish graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in January of 2022 with a degree in trombone performance and a minor in religion. An aspiring musicologist, Tavish writes program notes for the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, published liner notes with Gothic Records in June of 2023, and recently presented at the North American British Music Studies Association’s 2023 Symposium. As a choral musician, Tavish was a member of Collegium Musicum Oberliniense and has worked for two years as a church choral scholar. He is excited to work with Voces Amicis this year!

Meet Madison! Me, the person behind the photos!
Madison Tiegreen graduated from Georgia State University in 2023 with studies in both Choral Music Education and Religion (philosophy and psychology).
This time was marked by her work in University Singers under the direction of Dr. Deanna Joseph, featured on two albums and receiving both national and international accolades. Throughout these years she worked for the School of Music in multiple regards including administration, recruitment, and marketing.
She currently holds the soprano staff singer position at All Saints Episcopal Church in Atlanta, and loves singing at whatever opportunity presents itself.
She enjoys being a multidimensional professional, and finds fulfillment from the multitude of life’s offerings. Personal explorations include art, photography, all things vintage, and spending time outdoors—Wherever beauty can be found!

Let’s continue meeting our members, with Peyton!
Peyton Fleming is a Vocalist, Music Educator, Conductor, hailing from Gooding, ID. He is a second year Graduate student at Georgia State University seeking a Master of Music - Choral Conducting. Peyton is an alumnus of The College of Idaho, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, Vocal Performance and Mathematics-Physics. Professionally, he sings with the Atlanta Master Chorale (Alto/Tenor) and previously performed with Opera Idaho in Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Georges Bizet’s Carmen (Chorus) and J.S. Bach’s Mass in b-minor (Baritone).

Happy fall everyone! Meet Rebecca!
Rebecca Simantov is a first-year master's student in choral conducting at Georgia State. She sang and toured with the Kenyon College Chamber Singers for four years before moving back to New York City to teach music and theater. In the last two years, Rebecca has been living in LA, playing bass in a funky rock band, and singing with the Angeles Chorale, including performances with the LA Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Rebecca is passionate about exploring the narrative, storytelling capacity of choral music and is so excited to be learning from her peers as a member of Voces Amicis.

We’d love you to meet Juli!

Juliana Bolaño is currently in her second year of the Masters in Choral Conducting program at Georgia State. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed her undergraduate studies at Stetson University in 2022, where she studied music education. Aside from her studies, Juliana has also presented research in Women Composers from the Italian Renaissance and Baroque eras (along the side of two other incredible Voces members)! In her free time, Juliana enjoys playing soccer, playing music and spending time with her friends!

Happy Thursday! Meet José!
Originally from Guatemala, José began his musical journey as a choral singer with Coro Victoria. He later moved to Costa Rica to pursue his bachelor's degree in Choral Conducting. In 2020, he founded the vocal group Vocapella Octeto, where he served as the musical director. Conducted the choirs of the Pre-University Program at Universidad Nacional in Costa Rica and also served as a guest conductor with Vocalis choir, Guatemala, during their seasons titled "First Love" and "Bajo La Noche." In 2023, he was selected to participate and conduct in the Masterclass Concert at the World Symposium of Choral Music in Istanbul. Currently, he's pursuing a master's in Choral Conducting with Dr. Deanna Joseph at Georgia State University."

A new day and time to meet Deann!
Deann Stevens is an accountant who returned to school part-time several years ago to pursue a music degree. She joined her first choir at the age of 5 and has been hooked on choirs ever since. Being a part of the acclaimed University Singers has been a highlight of her time at Georgia State University. She is in her final semester and is looking forward to graduating and pursuing professional choral opportunities. She is new to Voces Amicis and is excited to be a part of their '23-'24 season. When not nerding out over spreadsheets on her day job, or in class/ rehearsals, Deann enjoys laughing with her husband, losing herself in a good book, bingeing British television dramas, and dinner with friends.

It’s Tuesday and time to meet Trevor!

Hailing all the way from Washington State in the Pacific Northwest, Trevor Kytola (he/him) is a 1st year Masters student in Choral Conducting this year at GSU. While at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in Tacoma, WA, Trevor received his Bachelor of Music Education degree and appeared with The Choir of the West, PLU Choral Union, PLU Ringers, and performed with Tacoma Opera and Vashon Opera. This year, Trevor will join St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church to direct the St. Cecilia Children’s choir as well as assisting with GSU’s Tenor/Bass Choir and Choral Union. Previous conducting appointments include the PLU Knights Chorus and PLU Ringers and assisting with the Graham-Kapowsin High School Choral program in Graham, WA.
