Saturday September 28 the Tool Town Live free concert series concludes at Fish Park, near 200 Union Street in Athol. The show will feature touring classic rock and blues band "The Mighty King Snakes". Opening the show will be local legend Justine Buckley, and her husband Billy Buckley. The concert is from 7-9pm, and free for all ages.

The Mighty King Snakes play high energy rockin' blues. The band was founded by the legendary, iconic lead vocalist Charlie Scott and the incomparable "Irish Mike" Patterson on Guitar and vocals. The group also often includes Stewart James on harp, Dangerous Dan Linsky on
guitar, Bruce Stark on Drums and Scotty Monette on bass. Johnny Memphis says that the band: "Has a gruff and gritty sound that connects blues and rock'n'roll in the same way the early Rolling Stones did." They've received extensive radio airplay throughout the US and are one of the premier touring bands in the US. Members of the band have shared stages with the likes of George Thorogood, James Montgomery, Duke Robillard, Professor Harp, and countless other legends.

Renowned guitarist Henrik Lindqvist of the Fiore's Music Review says: "When I'm feeling a little bluesy, the Mighty King Snakes can take me into a dazzling sonic landscape of deep indigo blue and I forget my worries. My heart starts pounding and I get feeling good, all with the power of their music. Its the type of blues that picks you up and makes you want to get down, in a good way. Truly mighty, those King Snakes are."

Justine Buckley's folk oriented music has a pop/ country twist. Her sound tugs you right in, gently revealing the influences of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Fleetwood Mac. Scott Alarik of the Boston Globe calls Justine a "rising star" and says she
"confronts the cynicism of maturity with an almost defiant
innocence." Justine's husband Billy returns by popular demand. He performed at Tool Town Live as an opening act last September to rave reviews and countless encore requests.

Saturday September 21 the Tool Town Live free concert series continues at Fish Park, near 200 Union Street in Athol. The show will feature world-renowned blues guitarist Barrett Anderson and his band. The
concert is from 7-9pm, and free for all ages.

A 17 year veteran of the scene, Barrett Anderson cut his teeth playing with members of Muddy Waters' 1970s band, Pinetop Perkins & Steady Rollin' Bob Margolin, in the late 90's. Following that, he spent a
combined 6 years in the internationally-acclaimed blues bands Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters and The Monster Mike Welch Band. Barrett recorded his first recording (with neo-swing legend Jimbo Mathus
producing) in North Mississippi in 2007. He returned to his native New England and quickly enlisted some of the world's heaviest blues musicians - Ron Levy (organist for Albert King, BB King, Roomful of Blues, and countless more) and Per Hanson (drummers for Ronnie Earl &
The Broadcasters, Jimmy Rogers, David Maxwell, and more).

"He may have shared the stage with great bluesmen, but when fronting his own band and playing his own music he is his own man," says Georgetown Fats, editor of the Boston Blues Society. Ronnie Earl says "He is a total wizard on the guitar!" And music critic Ted Drozdowski
says "Barrett Anderson's roots explorations are full of true to the heart playing."

In 2013 Barrett's second album, The Long Fall, was released (produced by Cambridge's roots-rock king Dennis Brennan, and featuring the legendary organ trio lineup he had been working with all across new
england ), and Barrett won a highly prestigious Boston Music Award, 2013 Blues Artist of the Year. A reformed guitarist, bassist Jamie Hatch brings the low end to the foreront. His playing is big, full, and driving; he is a master at propelling the music forward, whether through playing hard or laying back. The man who keeps the rhythm
moving and the beat grooving, Doug MacLeod provides the central heartbeat for The Barrett Anderson Band. And now the legendary Charlie Mallett has joined the group on rhythm guitar!!

Saturday September 14 the Tool Town Live free concert series continues at Fish Park, near 200 Union Street in Athol. The show will feature Boston/New York City- based progressive rock band, Space Junk is Forever. The concert is from 7-9pm, and free for all ages.

"I'm really excited to be a small part of helping to introduce this band to the area," says Tool Town Live production assistant Ethan Stone. "Listening to Space Junk is Forever, I can't help but remember 13 and 14 years ago we had some epic concerts at Fish Park with the legendary Al Plotkin Band playing to an ocean of hundreds of people in
that field. They performed very creative upbeat instrumental music, with a combination of vintage and modern keyboard sounds, which is akin to the vibe this vintage prog rock outfit 'Space Junk is Forever' is into! They don't sound identical- Al's style was a bit more jazz
funk fusion-based and Space Junk is Forever has more of a vintage progressive rock sound, but I know Al would love this music, and be excited to hear a new generation of musicians playing it so well!"

Space Junk is Forever use vintage instruments to weave simple melodies, stirring harmonic language, and frequent key and meter changes into impressionistic, aptly titled tunes that '70's prog lovers, mathy drummers, synthesizer geeks, and music theory nerds are all sure to enjoy. The group includes David Palan on Bass, Madden Klass on drums, Jordan Holt on Organ/Moog, Claude Garoute on Rhodes/synths, and Matt Vigna on Guitar.

Critic DAJOCO says "Organ fueled prog jam. I likey!" And Sven Schreiber says "WOW, what a fat keyboard sound! Jordan Holt has a room full of those wonderful vintage toys a keyboardist's heart might wish for like Hammond, Rhodes, Moog, Mellotron, Hohner...and who knows what else. And with Madden Klass, he found a classy drummer too!
She's really got the right groove for this complex music...a pleasure for fans of advanced 70's keyboard oriented art rock, inspired by Keith Emerson, Derek Sherinian, Jordan Rudess, and the likes..." And virtuoso guitarist and critic Henrik Lindqvist of the Fiore's Music Review says: "Never have I heard a sound quite like this, I can't get nearly enough of it, it reminds me of eating a neverending bowl of
delicious musical spaghetti forever. I love spaghetti, especially this space junk kind."

This Saturday September 7 the Tool Town Live free concert series moves to Fish Park, near 200 Union Street in Athol. The show will feature award winning "BBQ rock" band, Trailer Park. The concert is from 7-9pm, and free for all ages.

Celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, Trailer Park has
achieved a level of popularity and critical acclaim across the
northeastern US that most bands only dream of. Steve Morse of the Boston Globe says Trailer Park: "...has all the necessary ingredients - a stylish look, a satchel of great songs, and a lively stage presence that spells an unstoppable future!"

Trailer Park is a ten-legged rock and roll machine powered by James Robinson on guitar, Tom Mahnken on bass, Greg Lauzon and Rick Page on tenor saxes, and Joe Fitzpatrick on drums. All the boys sing. The music is a tribute to the horn-driven R&B bands of 1950s New Orleans, the catchy melodies of timeless pop, and the you-better-shake-it vibe
of Latin music. Members of the band say: "Trailer Park plays original, sax-soaked rock and roll. It's often been called 'Barbeque Music,' though we couldn't tell you exactly why."

The Valley Optimist in Northampton MA says: "Dancing isn't necessarily easy to do. You need the right atmosphere, some way to overcome your inhibitions, and the perfect music. Trailer Park provides it all! With a playful, easygoing demeanor and twin-sax attack, the five-piece band can get anyone to dance the night away!"

Since 1994, Trailer Park has released half a dozen CDs and played over 1000 shows throughout the Northeast. They've had the good fortune to open for some great acts like NRBQ, Rat Dog, WAR, Little Feat, and Los Lobos, and have even performed multiple concerts as Bo Diddley's
backing band.

"The group's blend of rootsy, Motown-, Beatles- and Blasters-influenced original tunes beg to be heard outdoors on a lazy summer afternoon with burgers grilling nearby," claims the Berkshire Eagle of Pittsfield MA. And the Daily Gazette of Albany NY raves: "Trailer Park calls their first CD Barbeque, and it has all the right ingredients: a meaty beat; a smooth, spicy sauce of saxophone riff and a lot of heat!"

And legendary drummer Jerry Chiasson said of the band, "These guys know how to blast off. You're gonna dance dance dance baby! We like the latin music and the 5/4 rhythm. Talk about a swanky outfit! Either you have it, or you don't, and these guys have it!"

If there is a chance of rain in the forecast, the concert will be held in Memorial Hall at 584 Main Street in Athol. Refreshments including hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks, dessert bars and more will be on sale at the event. Scotties Potties provides facilities for Tool Town Live
