Our final 2026 International Program violinist is Hannah Tam! 🎻
Hannah's accolades include Third Prize and the Audience Prize at the Menuhin International Competition Junior Division (2021), the Memorial Performance Award at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and First Prize and Overall Winner of the Concorso Andrea Postacchini in Italy.

Hannah has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing in venues such as Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and the La Jolla Music Festival. She has appeared with orchestras including the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Kansas City Symphony, and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

Hannah studies with Ida Kavafian and Benjamin Beilman at the Curtis Institute of Music, and plays on a 1757 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin (“ex-Herten”). She is currently a Jubilee Ambassador of Bärenreiter.

The second of our two International Program violists this summer is Rang Tae! Rang hails from Korea and made her debut at the age of 14, performing with Richard O’Neill at the Seoul Arts Center. She has since appeared in recital at venues across Korea and the United States, including The House Concert and Kukje Art Hall in Seoul, and the Union City Museum in New Jersey.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles. Rang is the first prize winner of the 2022 Dong-A Music Competition, one of Korea’s leading national competitions, and has also received awards from the World Ilbo, Music Journal, and Hudson International Competitions. Most recently, she was invited as a soloist to the 2025 Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland 🏔️ We’re delighted to welcome Rang to Music@Menlo this summer!

We’re excited to welcome violinist Jake Dongyoung Shim to the International Program this summer! Jake is a recipient of the IsangYun Prize, won First Prize at the Stulberg International String Competition, and was named a Laureate of the J. S. Bach, Irving M. Klein, Zhuhai Mozart, and the F. Kreisler International Violin Competitions. He is also the recipient of numerous honors, including the Manfred Grommek-Preis from the Kronberg Academy, and has entered a collaboration with Sony Classical.

Jake has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Tokyo Symphony, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and the Korea Chamber Orchestra. He is currently an AD candidate at Curtis, studying with Ida Kavafian, Pamela Frank, and Shmuel Ashkenasi. Jake performs on the 1700 “Dragonetti” Stradivarius, generously loaned by the Nippon Music Foundation.

Our next 2026 International Program artist is violinist Julia Schilz! Julia recently completed her undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School with Donald Weilerstein and Catherine Cho, where she is currently pursuing a graduate degree. She won Grand Prize at the 2025 Klein International String Competition. Her 2025-26 season includes concerto solos with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, as well as engagements with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players.

Prior to attending Juilliard, Julia held a full-time contract with the Houston Symphony. This year, she performs with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra as a guest concertmaster, and frequently serves as concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra.

Congratulations to the newly announced 2027–30 Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Bowers Program artists! 🎉

The Bowers Program is a highly competitive three-season residency in which exceptional early-career musicians perform, tour, and teach alongside CMS artists. We’re especially thrilled that this year’s cohort includes *six* Music@Menlo Chamber Music Institute alumni: violinists Tianyou Ma, Clara Neubauer, Oliver Neubauer, and Eric Tsai; cellist Haddon Kay; and pianist Chelsea Wang. Introducing 2026 International Program violinist Hanna Park! 🎻Hanna is from South Korea and made her solo debut at Seoul’s Universal Arts Center at an early age. She has won top prizes in major national competitions in Korea, including the TBC, Sungjung, Korea Herald, Segye Ilbo, and Kookmin Ilbo competitions. She has also been named both a Kumho Young Artist and a Chosun Ilbo Young Artist. As a soloist, Hanna has appeared with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeongbuk Symphony Orchestra, Yonsei Sinfonietta, Sunhwa Symphony Orchestra, and the Salzburger Orchestra in Austria.

As concertmaster of The Juilliard School Orchestra, she led performances at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage and Alice Tully Hall. Hanna earned her bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University in Korea, completed her master’s degree at The Juilliard School, and is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University.

Introducing our first 2026 International Program violist! 🎻

Andy Park, a major prizewinner in 2024 Primrose International Viola Competition, is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at The Juilliard School under Misha Amory. Prior to that, he received a BA/MM dual degree from Yale University in Chemical Engineering and Master of Viola performance under the guidance of Ettore Causa.

He was invited to the 2023 ARD International Music Competition and 2024 International Max Rostal Competition. Andy took part in the 2018 New York String Orchestra Seminar and won principal viola positions in numerous orchestras, such as NYO USA / NYO2. He has performed alongside esteemed artists such as Joshua Bell, Nicholas Kitchen, Yefim Bronfman, and Pamela Frank. Andy currently uses a bow and a viola graciously loaned by the Maestro Foundation.

Music@Menlo is included in BBC Music Magazine's "25 Best Classical Music Festivals in USA and Canada 2026”!

The festival begins July 17 and offers three weeks of top-tier chamber music from an incredible lineup of artists including the Viano Quartet, Sir Stephen Hough, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Stella Chen, & more.
