We are proud to present “Heritage Square: The Uptown Athens Historic Walking Tour” in collaboration with the Ohio History Connection’s Ohio Open Doors program. Ohio Open Doors allows stewards of historic buildings, places and spaces, to open their doors to the public for special tours and programs. All of which are FREE to attend!

The Athens Historic Landmarks Walking Tour will open its historical and ancestral doors to some of the city’s most notable and storied sites, each reflecting a unique aspect of Athens’ vibrant past and present. From restored community hubs to architectural marvels, you’ll discover fascinating histories, beautiful buildings, and the enduring spirit of Athens at every stop.

ANNOUNCING this fall's Sustainability Film Series!!! These events, which feature environmental documentaries paired with introductions by science experts, are FREE and open to the public.

Coming up first is DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE with THE FILMMAKERS Daniel Messina and Jodie Childers on Wednesday, September 9th at 7 p.m.! We're so excited to actually have the filmmakers visiting the Athena for this one. To make the event even more special, local musician Steve Zarate will be performing songs by Pete Seeger in The Athena lobby from 6:20 p.m. until the show starts! This kickoff to our Sustainability Series is a special event you won't wanna miss.

Coyote decides to sue Acme (the company that created the weapons that have plagued him for so many years) and hires a lawyer (Will Forte) to represent him. Folks have been loving this one!

There's nothing quite like an Athens sunset from the rooftop of the Athens City Parking Garage.

Join us for an night of Athens movie magic as we kick off Welcome Week with AMÉLIE. Relax on a picnic blanket, watch a beautiful sunset, and enjoy some tasty popcorn with friends! Bring the new roommate you've been trying to get to know or the crush you're thinking about asking on a date. 🙂
