We have had a lot of questions about movies and our schedule. Let’s answer some:
“I didn’t see Cars on the schedule for Saturday or Sunday, will this change?”
Our schedule is a week at a time. It starts on Friday and ends on Thursday. We will not add or remove movies from the published week. The only exception is if weather or an issue beyond our control affects our location and we would have to adjust the showtimes. These changes are rare and are posted on social media, but we would never add a movie to Saturday if we hadn’t been planning to play it.
“Will you be playing [insert any movie here]?
We get the list of movies weekly. We will get most big releases but do not know what the full lineup for Friday until Monday-Wednesday. We post an update when we have it.
“Will you still have ….on 9/25?”
Most regular movies have a 2 week minimum (except special events like passion of the Christ from fathom events) but beyond that we don’t know.
“Why didn’t you play…”
No idea. Usually the studios don’t give us a reason when they send the movie list. Sometimes, it’s because we didn’t have room. When new movies come out, they take priority over something like the cars anniversary. We don’t pick the movies. We can tell them what we think but it doesn’t always make a difference.
The industry works in mysterious ways- it isn’t convenient and can be frustrating. We aren’t gatekeeping info, we just don’t have answers unfortunately!
