Laura:
What genre of music do you consider House of Curses to be?
House of Curses:
We don't really know! Lol. It's heavy, it's melodic, it's positive, in the face of adversity, and sometimes brooding. We have
coined the phrase, "Life Metal."
Laura:
What's the ultimate direction for
your band?
House of Curses:
Other than for our personal intentions, that we think can be found in our music, I believe it's to help bring people from all nations together. All for the Glory of something bigger than ourselves.
Laura:
How would you describe your music making process?
House of Curses:
We all bring something different to the table. We all contribute to writing our songs equally. We just take something we all agree is cool, and we trust each other to each put our spin on it. It usually starts like a tiny mustard seed, and grows into something we never expected.
Laura:
Why call the band, "House of Curses?"
House of Curses:
We are a fallen creation, but we are all in this together. So we try to bring any and all people back home to the family it was intended to be.
Laura:
What should fans expect to experience at a show?
House of Curses:
Unbridled Passion. No matter the song, we try to express our experiences in everything that brought each song to life.
Laura:
Typical question here. Who has influenced you the most via music?
House of Courses:
I think we pull from a wide variety of influences. Some you will be able to tell straight out of the gate. There are subtle things in our music that are pulled from genres that are completely opposite to what you'd expect. We love hearing people describe what we sound like, because it's ususally a comparison to something we never even thought of.
Laura:
How can fans and future fans locate, listen to and buy your music?
House of Curses:
Well, we are digitally
distributed everywhere.
iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, etc. If you're interested in purchasing a physical copy, you'll have to come to ashow! Lol.
Laura:
Is there anything else you would like your fans to know?
House of Curses:
We are exactly whom we claim to be. Nothing more or less. We love our fans from the absolute bottoms of our hearts and thatʼs why we do this. We are all family here, we don't have fans.
Laura:
What's coming up next for House of Curses?
House of Curses:
After our debut release on PARA Records we plan on shooting a video, for our first single “Lucky Stars." Some of that footage will be taken from our next show at Shagnasty's in Huntsville on Jan. 26th. So we hope to see everyone there! Hopefully we can get a few short runs on some decent major tours to help spread the word nationally. We have a short run in Florida with our good friends in "7 Stone Riot" and "Days to Come", in February.
Hopefully we can take some of that momentum and go as far as we can with it. Pre-production for Vol.2 has already started. We should be in studio at some point in 2019, working on a follow up to our debut.
