211 Gallery - Local Art Gallery & Studio Non-profit art gallery; supports, encourages, and educates about fine arts in our area We are located in historic downtown Athens.

We are a fresh new group of artists who have come together collectively to create a community gallery. We offer wall space as well as economically priced studio spaces for local artists. We hope to partner with other community venues to showcase local arts in a variety of locations.

The little kiddos, ages 7 to 10, had a good time painting from these reference models, based on original artwork by artist Karen Siwak. Today's skills were brush control, color use, and a bit of whimsy. There is still time to sign your little artists up for summer classes. Tuesdays, June 9, 16, 23, and 30 for ages 11 and up; Mondays June 15, 22, and 29 for ages 7 -10. Call 903 292 1746 or email [email protected]. Responses on FB often get lost in the shuffle!

The second group of art pieces open for bidding in our silent auction. Art Gallery 211 has been serving the artists and art patrons of this area for 14 years this month. In recognition of all the support, we are offering these original, one-of-a kind creations in SILENT AUCTION format at a fraction of their retail value. The auction will run through June 25. You may place bids through email [email protected] (please put bidding or something in the subject line). Time stamp on emails will determine the order of bids. You may also phone bids at 903-292-1746 from 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Friday and 10 to 6 on Saturday.

These are all unique, original creations by local artists, donated to support ART MATTERS, our 501C3 non-profit organization. Our mission includes education, support, encouragement, and promotion of the fine arts within our community and local area. You may place bids via e-mail [email protected]; by phone 903-292-1749 (11 to 5 Wed through Friday, 10 to 6 Saturday); or in person during those hours. We are honored to be able to provide local artists with a place to exhibit their original creations and to offer these unique works to the public. ROAD TRIP is officially open at Art Gallery 211!! Many thanks to the artists who participate, help, give generously of their time, talents, and resources to make these shows and openings happen!! If you missed the opening reception, don't be sad--the show will run through June and July so you have time to visit, enjoy the amazing artwork in the show, and find your treasures!! CONGRATULATIONS to artist Dennis Carson on the sale of this "Rainbow Bug" photograph on canvas. Not only did it sell during the opening, it also took the 2nd place ribbon in the photography category!! Special thanks to our friend for supporting local artists!
