Despite the current challenges in our country, I firmly believe that, at our core, human beings long for unity. We all share a fundamental need to be seen, valued, and acknowledged. This longing is particularly evident among minority groups in America, who seek recognition and appreciation, as well as among white individuals who wish to engage in meaningful dialogue without being vilified.
The divisions we see today are often distractions from the deeper, more insidious forces at play—greed, anger, selfishness, and pride. When everyone is shouting, no one is truly listening. History has conditioned us to believe that power is secured through force and that victory necessitates the defeat of others. But true progress does not come from winners and losers; it comes from understanding.
Amid the chaos, there exists a quiet space—a moment of clarity—where people recognize that our shared humanity demands that we listen to one another. Only through this willingness to understand can we begin to move forward together.
