Looking for a place to sing?

Our friends at Meridian Women’s Chorus are welcoming treble singers for their upcoming season. Rehearsals begin this Thursday, September 3rd and continue weekly from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

All the details are in the post below. Check it out and share with a singer who might be interested!

Summer break is coming to an end! Our members will come together on September 3rd for our fall season potluck. There we'll get to see each other again, get our music, eat some good food, and hear updates on our upcoming season.

Want to join? Please do! No audition necessary.
Contact Stacie Court, our director, for a vocal assessment to determine your voice part, and then join us weekly on Thursdays from 12:30-1:45pm for rehearsals.

Our first concert is December 5nd!

Congratulations, Katy Atkins! We are so proud of you!

Historic Athens is pleased to announce that Katy Atkins has joined the Historic Athens team as our new Housing Preservation Coordinator on Friday, August 14. In this role, Katy will lead the Hands On Historic Athens program and serve as our organization's office/administrative coordinator.

Katy recently earned her master’s degree in Community Development from UGA, where her research included aging in place and innovative solutions to homelessness. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Housing Management and Policy and completed coursework in accounting and real estate through the Terry College of Business. Katy has also worked with the East Athens Development Corporation (EADC), and has a passion for equitable solutions to housing & economic development. She is also a singer and very involved in the Georgia Children's Chorus and the NOVA Women's Choral Collective.

Her combination of housing knowledge, community-based experience, and financial training will be a tremendous asset to Hands On Historic Athens and our broader operations. We're incredibly grateful for Katy joining our team and advancing our mission of preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of Athens, Georgia.

Three spots. That’s it!

NOVA Women’s Choral Collective has three spots available for our fall project, and we’re looking for strong soprano and alto singers, ages 16 and up, who are ready to dive into some truly incredible music.

A note about this project: strong music-reading skills are essential. We have limited rehearsals, the pace is quick, and we’ll be putting the music together - not teaching notes. :) If you’re the kind of singer who loves a challenge, learns quickly, and wants to be part of a vibrant, ambitious choral community, NOVA is the place to be.

Rehearsals begin this Sunday, August 16th, so if you’ve been thinking about singing with us, now is the time!
