❤️ There is something special happening in the City of Athens, Texas. It's easy to focus on the negative posts or the challenges every community faces. But every single day, as the Chamber, we get to see something different.

We see entrepreneurs taking a chance on a dream. We see family-owned businesses that have served generations standing alongside exciting new ones opening their doors. We see farmers, ranchers, and agricultural families continuing a legacy that helped build Henderson County.

We see volunteers giving countless hours to make our community stronger. We see organizations working together instead of competing, because they know we're all better when Athens succeeds.

That's what makes this community different. Athens has never been just one thing. We're the Black-Eyed Pea Capital of the World. We're the Home of the Hamburger. We're home to one of Texas' oldest fiddle traditions. We're proud of our 60 plus years of the Henderson County Farm & Ranch Tour.

When visitors come for the Jamburgeree, the Farm & Ranch Tour, the Athens Old Fiddlers Reunion, or one of the many events throughout the year, they don't just attend an event.

They experience Athens. They eat in our restaurants. They shop in our stores. They stay in our hotels. They discover businesses they didn't know existed.

And more often than not, they leave saying the same thing... "The people there are so friendly." That's something worth celebrating!
