As we prepare to present our joint concert with Lux Treble Ensemble, please enjoy the continuation of our conductor interview series. Conductor, Max Rampley, discusses his contributions to the program: Come and Go to That Land - arranged by Brandon Waddles, and Swilo Yini - arranged by Michael Barrett.

Max Rampley is the Choral Director at Alexander High School. He also serves as Director of Music Ministries at Sam Jones Methodist Church, Cartersville, Ga. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Reinhardt University and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University. He was taught by Judson Whitfield, a fellow Orpheus member. Max joined Orpheus in 2022.

While audiences await our next concert for the 2025-2026 season, please enjoy the first of several interviews with our conductors of Orpheus as Jeff Bauman discusses Palestrina’s Tenebre Factae Sunt, Mulholland’s Wi’ a Hundred Pipers, and Kander and Ebb’s Coffee (In a Cardboard Cup).

Jeffrey Bauman serves as Professor of Music at Young Harris College. He is also the Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Union County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University and Master’s Degrees in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Bowling Green State University. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group for all eleven seasons since its inception.
