To wrap up Black History Month, Vibrancy Theater in collaboration with Athens Black Contemporary Dancers (ABCD) will be hosting a night of exploring Black Joy through Dance in America.

This workshop will be held on Sunday, February 26th in Putnam Hall, room 335 at 6:00 pm. We will learn about Black Dance in America through a slideshow presentation, followed by a dance combination taught by Rhys Carr and Alexis Fuqua to physicalize some of what was discussed. No previous dance knowledge or training is required to attend. If you'd prefer to stay for only one of the portions of the workshop, that is welcome as well. We ask that if you decide to attend, please come with an open mind to new information, a mentality of respect, and a positive attitude!

You are invited to IMPROV FOR ALL!

This Workshop Series, produced by , will be presented by CAITLIN LOPEZ ( ).

Caitlin Lopez served most recently as the Associate Artistic Director of Ophelia’s Jump Productions (OJP) in Southern California. An improviser for the past 21 years, she has trained at institutions such as ComedySportz LA, Impro Studio, and iO West. She has also performed and taught regularly at OJP and as a former company member with Spectacles Improv Engine and specializes in narrative genre work with teams such as Community Theatre 3000, The Illegitimate Stage, and The Blankety Blank. With these teams Caitlin has been a featured performer at the Orange County Improv Festival, Red Rocks Improv Festival, Impro’s Winterfest, and the Rise Comedy Festival. A graduate of CSU San Bernardino, Caitlin is now delighted to be a first year MFA Directing student here at Ohio University.

Caitlin Lopez will be teaching Short Form Improvisation over the course of 7 workshops culminating in a Fall Improv Showcase!

This workshop series will be FREE for active members of Vibrancy Theater (JOIN TODAY!)
For those outside of the Collective, it will be $15 for the ENTIRE SERIES (~$2/Class)!

Our first workshop, September 26, 2022, will be FREE FOR ALL.

All workshops take place on Mondays in Kanter 203 at 5:30PM.
