How about an introduction?
My given name is Seasons Sparks (She/Her), I’m 52, & I draw, paint, design, video, & photograph all things Salty Raven.
I’m originally from Portland & grew up coming to Cannon Beach since I was a baby. Since 2016 I have lived on the coast, where I find inspiration daily.
A bit about my background:
-I have always created multiple forms of art.
-I spent most of my career curating & helping other artists reach their goals as the brand ambassador for Presents of Mind, a boutique retailer in Portland.
-In 2008 I started creating Tees to sell as a side business & in 2020 I left my 30 year job & began being supported solely by my art as the brand Salty Raven.
My art mission:
To share the transformative powers of nature in ways we can all utilize & connect to on a daily basis. I believe the beauty & energy of nature has the power to impact our general mental health & wellbeing.
I draw landscapes, nature, & wildlife with images that are intended to transport the viewer to locations & experiences that evoke peace.
I have created a cast of animal characters “Flock of Gerrys” centered around my pet seagull Gerry drawn to evoke joy & giggles.
-I have written, illustrated, printed, & published two books about them that include positive messaging & music.
Other bits-
- I’m an avid world traveler. I lived in Germany in my 20’s, & have travelled to 27 countries, on 5 continents.
-I’m obsessed with being outdoors & experiencing nature; tidepools, forests… 😍
- I love all music, but especially 70’s/80’s Punk & New Wave.
-I self orphaned & became my own mother.
-I’m an environmentalist & try to conduct my life & brand as low impact as possible.
