JUNE ☀

Hello June! If you would have told me a year ago that I would have a CALENDAR of events for teaching writing, I would have said, "What a dream!" ♥

And here I am, sharing with you a calendar of events of the month of June.

For the kids: This week begins "Storytellers Camp" for kids - a collaboration with Grace DeClerck Snively. This class holds a special place in my heart because a kids summer camp was the FIRST experience I had teaching outside of a public school setting. I absolutely love teaching this class and I'd say the kids enjoy coming too because this class is SOLD OUT for the summer!

For the adults: There are TWO great opportunities for you to plug into writing this month.

Author Adaptations will be offered TWICE this month as we will be working through a series of activities throughout the summer. You can attend single classes, or sign up to attend them all. I have strategically designed the class so that you will never feel like you are "behind" if you missed another class. On that same note, if you attend every class, you will find yourself with a larger toolbox of writing skills.

Writing & Illustrating Intensive will be offered this month. This is a collaborative class with Grace DeClerck Snively. This class came to be for a few reasons. One, we had a blast with our adult book writing and illustrating class last fall, and we wanted to bring more to the table for a similar experience. We also know that life is busy and sometimes committing to multiple classes on multiple days can feel overwhelming. So, we want to offer you an experience where you can pour into creativity all at one time! Carving out this chunk of time to focus on a task will support depth to your creativity as well as the feeling of getting away on a little mini vacation :)

I'll be sharing more info on each class in the coming days, but as we kick off a new month, I wanted to share the full calendar with you so that you could compare it to your summer schedule, and find a time to plug in with me at Domas Studio!

When people think about investing in a community, they often think about roads, buildings, businesses, and infrastructure.

Art Camp starts TOMORROW!!

We are so excited to welcome a full week of young artists into the studio, and we are incredibly grateful to share that every Art Camp spot for this week is SOLD OUT!

If you missed Week 1, don’t worry. We still have 2–3 spots available in most classes during Weeks 2, 3, and 4.

Current openings include:
• Sensory Seekers (Ages 2–4)
• Art Camp (K–5th Grade)

And while our June Teen Art Uncovered Series is completely sold out, you can still jump into the July session. We currently have just 3 spots remaining!

Thank you for helping us fill Art Camps this year. Watching kids build skills, confidence, friendships, and creative courage is one of the highlights of our summer.

We just wrapped up our Blue Moon Paint Night, and it was simply a fun night to be in the studio.

We spent the evening exploring a single concept… a full moon, but one of the things I’m most proud of at DOMAS Studio is that we don’t focus on teaching people to make my artwork. We focus on teaching creative thought process, building skills, and helping people learn how to make art that feels like their own.

When I look around the room and see how different every piece turned out. I feel like I did my job.

Different colors. Different compositions. Different decisions.

Because that’s the goal.

To help people think about what they want to create, develop the skills to make it happen, and leave with something that is uniquely theirs.
