Did you notice the “Aspen” carved into the snow?
Blue Bird depicts a view looking up , the gondola ascending Little Nell, over Spar Gulch, before disappearing over the shoulder of Bell Mountain. Central in the composition, a potpourri of skiers and boarders make their final turns through the fresh powder.
The title is inspired by those special bluebird mornings; after a big snow, the sky is so blue it feels like a portal to the fourth dimension. A joyous swarm races to experience the glorious glide – where to float and to fall is one and the same. (Just don’t lose your skis!)
