Founded in 1953 by Katherine Hill in her family's home, the Ashtabula Arts Center has grown to be acknowledged as one of the finest arts centers in the state of Ohio. Classes and performances in the areas of dance, drama, and music, along with classes and monthly exhibits in the visual arts areas pack a full schedule of offerings throughout each year. A nonprofit organization, the Ashtabula Arts Center is dependent upon donations, memberships, and grants to continue and to grow its programs and operations. Individual and/or family memberships initiates the donor to various benefits depending upon the level of donation. Of course, becoming a member of the Ashtabula Arts Center is not the only way you can make donations to us. The arts center gladly accepts cash donations of any size at any time. We are also most appreciative of donations of volunteer time. Numerous opportunities for all sorts and types of volunteering abound, from skilled help like carpenters, electricians, graphic artists, and scene painters, to help in the forms of ushering for shows, staffing the concession stand, helping process large mailings, assisting with "Kid's Days" and other art projects, and so forth.
