These two peas in a pod have been friends since they were babies. They finish each others sentences and are pretty darn cute the way they look out for and love each other.

On this lovely August day our greatest challenge was getting to the beach before the fog burned off, which we did, barley and it warms my heart see these beauties in these breezy photos!💖

Somewhere beyond the last stone wall, where the granite rises as the ruins of an ancient castle and the hills disappear into forest, she wandered into the story.

Velvet. Wildflowers. A hibiscus tucked among the green. A ring of skeleton keys upon her head like a crown of options, though whether they open doors, secrets, or simply a very good story remains unknown.

She had the look of someone who might have been waiting centuries for this particular afternoon.
The valley kept her secrets.

The mountains kept their distance.
And the old stones, naturally, said nothing at all.

It poured during their ceremony.
We waited. We hoped it would let up. It didn’t. So eventually, we just went for it.

Everyone got soaked. Dresses, suits, flowers, guests, and, definitely, my camera. 😂

But what kept inspiring me wasn’t the rain. It’s how Dalaina and Tristan’s response to it. There was no frustration, no stress, no letting the weather steal the day.

They laughed, held hands, kept moving, and somehow made the whole thing feel exactly right.

That’s what I want to remember about this lush green June wedding. Not what happened, but how they met what happened.
Some of the most beautiful photographs came from the moments when everything was completely out of our control. Or was it?

Of all my years of rafting I have never had a more eventful trip.

6 days on the Rogue River, 35 miles, 16 people to begin with, 8 boats, a kayak, 3 dogs and 16 meals. One broken tibia at camp when the the knee and the dogs collided, which resulted in a helicopter evacuation. We ended the trip with 14 people…

There were many other events and stories and memories with good people in one of the wildest, most gorgeous places in this region that I feel so grateful to know!

To fit this much love between Rachel and Tim, plus all of their friends and family, into a single day feels almost impossible. And yet, that’s exactly what a wedding day somehow does.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just the excitement, the happy tears, or the beautiful details. It was the kindness. Rachel has such a gentle, thoughtful heart, and every toast spoke of the love and respect these two have built with the people around them. You could feel it everywhere.

The nerves, the laughter, the hugs that lingered a little longer, and that swelling feeling in your chest when two families become one. It was such a joy to witness and an honor to capture.
