Meet the Makers: Alpaca Meadows 🦙🧶

At Alpaca Meadows in Mansfield, Ohio, our love of fiber begins with the animals! We raise alpacas and Angora goats, and enjoy sharing the warmth, beauty, and creative possibilities of their fiber through our Farm Store, classes, and handmade creations.

This weekend, we’re bringing a little of the farm to the Autumn Fiber Festival! Browse alpaca yarn, roving and fiber, cozy socks, handmade accessories, needle felting and crochet kits, and handmade felted treasures. Whether you’re a fiber artist or simply love something soft and special, stop by and say hello!

Meet Erin, the artist behind Hinkston Handmade! Dyeing since 2007 and a full-time indie dyer since 2015, Erin specializes in self-striping yarns, along with non-striping yarns and spinning fibers. Everything is hand-dyed in small batches using professional dyes in her home studio in rural Kentucky.

Erin finds inspiration everywhere—from funky shoes and a colorful skirt to a line of poetry or the quiet beauty of nature. Combining colorway recipes with an intuitive, artistic approach, she creates colors that evoke a feeling or tell a story. Sometimes, she even names the individual stripes!

Stop by Hinkston Handmade at the Autumn Fiber Festival this weekend to explore Erin’s colorful creations and find inspiration for your next fiber project.

Past and present members of the Richland County Jr. Fair Alpacas group will be selling raffle tickets for wonderful baskets filled with fiber products donated by Autumn Fiber Festival vendors. Come out and support this hardworking group!

Our 4-H kids lend a hand throughout the weekend—helping vendors, welcoming visitors, supporting the raffle, and assisting with setup and cleanup. We’re grateful for their energy and willingness to pitch in wherever needed!

The countdown is almost there to Autumn Fiber Festival... 👀
