The Rollercade

The Rollercade Things are coming along! Hoping to be open for business Winter 2026. We will be in the old Gerwigs White Barn building. Come along this journey with us!

I'm reluctant to make this post, its exciting but I don't want to jinx it. As most of you know we own Auer Towing & Recovery (Ashland, Wooster and Mansfield locations)- thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past 15 years and many more to come... The support we get with that business allows us to be financially capable of completing this project!! After a long year of standstill, we have movement, slow but this process is possible. We have SOLD our (towing) building in Ashland - it is technically in contract and should close next month. What does this have to do with The Rollercade?? Well we have tons of equity in that - this allows us to move forward with some hurdles we had with funding for the Rollercade. Hoping to see some action being done this summer on this project. It is a bittersweet move for the towing company, as we just custom built that building in 2021 but it just made sense. We weren't ready to give up on this project and doing this will make things possible! So we are excited by all the changes happening and nothing will be fast for sure, but I wanted to pop in and let you know - WE ARE STILL HERE 😅 and we are willing to do what it takes to make this happen. The community needs this! Thank you to all who have stood by our sides through all this and those supporting our towing company as well. We appreciate you all!

Just want to pop on here real quick and tell you thank you so much. I made a post earlier this week to clear the air and squash rumors… and you all poured your love and support onto us. You reminded me of all the positive and amazing people in our community. So I just wanted to say thank you and we hear you and we appreciate you! ❤️

**CHOO-CHOO** This will be a long one for sure. Not that I HAVE to but because I WANT to - because as always I've been open about this whole process--good AND bad! Are we at a standstill - yes, unfortunately. As stated before, last spring we were on full throttle ready to go...then we hit the big bump-- paperwork/contractors/permits -- hit a bump and weren't moving at the same pace we were. 2-3 months later we finally got the drawings we needed to move forward with contractors and permits. 2-3 months that wrecked the whole plan and made several tasks start all over (i.e. SBA which takes 2-3 months ALONE) so restarted that in the summer--and I fell ill. Since some people like to make presumptions on that as well - I have an auto immune issue, a spine issue and now am unknown neurological issue still being determined. So yes - I may look fine to the trolls who want to gossip about me being 'ok' I am being treated but at times the nerve blockers don't always work. (I am not on drugs, not on narcotics - hell I don't even smoke or drink!--so can squash that too) That being said - the 3 months I was 'out' in miserable pain and bedridden most hours of the day- everything on my end fell apart. By the time I was given some diagnose and partial relief to make it back into work - to start the SBA process over AGAIN- the government was shut down! We took that time to separate ourself from the stress of 'not being able to do anything' to focus on what we could do -- in which we focused on community work - creating The Sharing Shed and hosting dinners for those in need. In the midst of that we were connected with a private lender. Perfect, right? Oh the deal was sooo perfect - you could tell this guy has invested in a lot of businesses - he knew exactly how to successfully make it work. I just needed some time to make sure we could talk to the contractors that we could be set to pull the trigger - we set up timelines with them, everything was good. We confirmed with the investor we could meet his terms and things were great. Until he went silent the following week. He responded back to our Rep who connected us and apologized to him that he had another deal pop up that he had been wanting to do and he had to take it. Which meant he couldn't take ours now. Our rep and us were extremely shocked and totally devastated. This arrangement we had with him would have funded the rest of the project with payment terms we had calculated and would have had it open in 3 months. So when I say we have been through the ringer and a complete rollercoaster on this project we have. Not ever once lying about anything. Are we perfect at this now- Could we have better prepared this ahead of time - yes possibly. No we didn't take any grant money and walk away. I'm not sure where the gossip train is even getting grant money -- other than the one organization that made arrangements to donate - which wouldn't even be until open - So we haven't taken that... Only money that we have taken in (from others) is for the couple of sponsors that are paying for advertising for 1 year upon opening. Maybe a max of $5,000 which is still being done when we open. Not that any of that is anyone's business -- but for people to be making rumors when I have been SOOOOOO open about this whole process. Everyone loves when its good news - but when its not a smooth process - they make judgement. Shame on all of you that are publicly making assumptions. IF you want to know something - ask ME. We have put $200,000 of our own personal money into this project over the past year - YES we are tapped out -- plans fell apart and now we are working on getting it fixed. Does not mean we stopped or walking away. We cant- We are invested in this - and believe it or not we genuinely feel this project is so important for the Ashland community- especially the kids!! So I am not sure why there is so much negativity out there about it. But there's the TRUTH - anyone saying anything differently ... just wait... true colors will show 🥰
ALSO--- I heard the Ontario Mall is opening up their rink soon if not already! How exciting! I'm curious how it looks and how it will be. From what I've read it doesn't seem to have the same vibe as we are going for - but definitely a good attraction to get people to the mall!
