Let me tell you a story. Its a story about the relationship I have with my Spirit Guides. I have so many amazing stories to tell but this one feels like the right one to share with you now.....
When I first moved to the amazing little coastal town of Astoria I had just sold my house that our family had lived in for 10 years. I took a loss on that sale because I had to sell fast for many reasons, all of which were complex and life changing. One of the major reasons I (we) chose to sell was that I found myself unexpectedly pregnant and the house being so remote meant that I wouldn't be able to have a home birth. I was also a single mother for the first time in my life. To say I was unsure and frightened would be a gross understatement. On top of all that my ex-husband, who was still a major part of mine and our children's lives was very sick with bone cancer. To be able to have my baby at home I had to move to a bigger city. I waffled between Olympia and Astoria for a bit, examining the pros and cons. Then I met a guy. He lived in Astoria. After a few hard months of hopping from one temporary house to the next with my kids my boyfriend asked if I wanted to move in with him until I could find a house to rent....in his tiny 2 bedroom apartment! We squeezed all 5 of us and his big dog in there while I feverishly looked for adequate housing. The due date kept creeping nearer and everytime my housing search came to a dead end I'd cry a bit. There was just nothing available and everytime I found something that would work someone else had snatched it up first. I was scouring Facebook, zillow, management companies every day. I even had a list of favorite homes that were for sale in the area that I couldn't really afford. Day after day, nothing. A stack of applications later, nothing. One night I went to bed feeling particularly sorry for myself and after crying myself to sleep I slept hard. I woke up in the morning with a voice in my head with very specific instructions. The voice was saying "Call Karen and ask her if she has a house for sale" (she was the landlord for the little shop that I had in town). I knew that this was not just my imagination and that somebody was trying to tell me something important. I messaged her and asked if she had a house for sale and she said "yes"! I met up with her that morning and what transpired was nothing short of a miracle. We met in front of my shop and our conversation lasted about 5 minutes and went like this;
"would you be willing to sell me your house on a contract?"
"Absolutely"
"Great! I've got some money for a down payment and I can pay this amount monthly"
"OK sounds great! Do you want to see it first?"
"Not really, I know its the right house for me and my family"
"OK we will write up the papers and meet you at the bank"
And it was a done deal! I hadn't seen it yet but I knew that it had come to me through some divine way and it must be just right!
After I signed the papers I got the address and went to check it out and guess what!? It was my favorite house that I had on my Zillow favorite list and it was about 500 ft away from my boyfriends apartment! I moved in about a week later and my baby boy was born there 2 months later. If we make a point of really listening who knows what miracles can unfold! I have many stories just as amazing as this one that I'm eager to share with you. The most amazing thing happened the other day. I was looking for some cotton rope for a project that I'm working on and I opened up my craft cabinet which is of course chock full of random supplies for all kinds of crafty things and I saw this box of roller ball vials for making perfumes etc. I immediately had this smack of inspiration.
