Actor Highlight: SUSAN O’HARA (Crew, u/s Doris) is so excited to be a part of
this wonderful production. The Cemetery Club and its cast is full of love, friendship, and poignant life...just what we all need right now. She participated in her high school’s plays (“10 thousand years ago”). Retirement from teaching gave her the opportunity to return to theater after all those years. Before moving to Massachusetts, Susan was a member of community theater in Vermont and New Hampshire. Since making her home in Western Mass, this opportunity is her first and she couldn’t be happier or more grateful.

Last weekend to see The Cemetery Club

Director's highlight: Jean Koester (Director) has lived and performed in the Pioneer Valley for 35 years. In 2016, she was invited to direct The Dixie Swim Club, a play about life-long friendships between five women, and it re-ignited her love of directing.

She has found her passion is finding great roles for women, and in particular mature women, whose lives are significantly underrepresented in the greater canon of plays. To her delight, The Cemetery Club is another opportunity to bring the lives of three older widows to life in this wonderfully poignant and funny script about women’s friendships, marriages, loss and moving through grief to new life.

Jaris Hanson* (Lucille) fell in love with theater in Chicago where she was a member of the Chicago Actors’ Theater and Second City Workshop. After years of playing the role of a responsible adult as a Professor of Communication at UMass, she retired and now is happily involved in her Third Act.

She is overjoyed to be performing with her talented friends, Jean, Jeannine, Louise, Laurel, Susan, Julie, and what’s his name—oh yes, Frank.

Crew Highlight: Laurel Turk (Stage Manager) is a singer and writer. Her backstage experience dates back to pulling the curtain for her eighth grade production of Blithe Spirit. She made her stage managing debut last year with FIRST PERSON FRESH: WOMEN’S SOLO PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL co-produced by Pauline Productions and KoFest. Previous work with Pauline Productions includes the debut production of her play, Breastless. Laurel is honored to be part of this stellar production, and thanks the cast and crew for their cooperative spirit and for continually being willing to move more furniture.
