Our 2026 Summer Spectacle will be a re-imagining of our box office hit performance “Once A Blue Moon - Cada Luna Azul” directed by DE Founder Stacy Klein. The performance is based on lead actor and cultural strategist Carlos Uriona’s past experience with military dictatorship and cultural rebellion in his native country Argentina. Once a Blue Moon returns Carlos to Agua Santa, a fictional version of his hometown, after many years in exile. He evokes the memories of his past and the stories of the town’s colorful inhabitants as well as the events leading to his departure. The story reflects an increasingly present-day and universal situation in which ‘progress’ and ‘power’ displaces people, in this case causing a flood. It is a story of memory, culture, and song. We presented a version of this performance in our 2015 / 2016 season and are looking forward to re-examining this work 10 years later and creating it anew with our current company

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Winter Member Event. The day was filled with meaningful connection, warm drinks, and plenty of laughter.

This gathering was especially memorable as our Founder and Vision Strategist, Stacy Klein, shared excerpts from her new book, "An Alchemy of Living Culture: Collected Writings on Double Edge Theatre". Members also enjoyed a preview screening of our new documentary series, "Double Edge: A Living Culture", directed by Travis Coe and Ashley James. A festive photobooth helped us capture and celebrate these special moments together.

Thank you to TDR: The Drama Review for including the urgent words of DE Founder and Vision Strategist Stacy Klein in the latest edition of their journal. "Double Edge Theatre at a Crossroads—and It Is Not Alone" drops us into this current moment of uncertainty for Double Edge and many arts organizations across the country as we continue to confront the loss of crucial support for arts and culture.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our February run of Rainbow Exodus! Created and performed by Company Member Karol Matuszak, and directed and designed by Co-Artistic Director Travis Coe. This performance was created in response to the “LGBT-free zones” that were appearing across municipalities and regions of Poland—public declarations that LGBTQ+ people were unwelcome. From this charged landscape emerges one man’s journey to break free from the confines of his conservative upbringing, setting out from his homeland in search of a place where he can live openly and wholly, without hiding.

This run brought together both new and familiar faces, creating space to connect, listen, and reflect on a powerful story of love, freedom, and sacrifice. We want to extend our sincere thanks to Jim Nicola, Nicky Paraiso, Siddhartha Shah, and Harold Steward for sharing their insights and facilitating such thoughtful and engaging conversations after the performance.
