REMINDER: Elmer’s Mural Competition
This summer, we will bring some attention to our outdoor walk-in cooler and want to have a mural painted on it. As a community center, we think it would be cool to have a member of our community dream up and paint a design. We would supply the materials and you paint it in time for the whole town to enjoy during Ashfield Fall Festival. Would you like to create this work of public art? If so, please see the competition details and timeline below. We look forward to reviewing all your ideas! Thank you.
Now - August 15, 2026: Submissions welcome via email ([email protected]) or snail mail (PO Box 334, Ashfield, MA 01330).
Title the email or letter “Mural Competition”. Include: your name; your contact information; your connection to Ashfield; a full-color version of your idea to scale (any scale that works for you); a paragraph that describes your idea for the mural; and a paragraph about your process / how you would plan to paint the mural on the cooler. Dimensions are 19’-10” x 7’-6”.
August 16th - August 31st, 2026:. The Elmer’s Community Center Board along with Wicked Good Cafe will select a winner. We prep the surface for the mural.
September 1, 2026:. We contact the winner and share the winning image in the Wicked Good Cafe.
September 2-30, 2026: We buy the materials, you paint the mural.
Fall Festival 2026: Everyone can bring friends and family to Elmer’s to join the thousands of festival goers and we all get to admire your work!
