Perfect lighting as I finished up removing the vinyl from the last 4 Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center mugs and prepping them to fire. Swipe for a finished mug! The last step before bisque #2 is picking of little tiny stickers with an xacto blade and then picking them off the rest of the way with my fingers. I bet a lot of people would find some real joy in doing this, I find a lot of shoulder and hand pain in this task! 💀

At least this time I was smart enough to loosen all of them with the blade first, then pick them off. It went amazingly faster when I started doing that. Always figuring out how to get faster at the little steps in my pottery.

My returning customers are the absolute best, and I love seeing photos of my mugs in their new homes. I made a mug for Marbles’ humans a while back, and then got to honor Squid’d memory as well this summer with his portrait.

After watching how many times my hat blocked the camera, I need to adjust my throwing posture! Accentuated by how badly the left side of my back hurt after throwing 10 mugs.

No more leaning over to check the profile! I have a mirror for this purpose but I still manage to default back to the lean.

Anyway.. all my Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center mugs are thrown and almost ready for handles!

Let’s see how throwing mugs at nearly 30 weeks pregnant goes. I’m working on the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center order, then prepping mugs for Christmas custom orders.

Let me tell ya though, my energy levels are about 1 hour of physical labor a day right now so this is gonna be tough! Hopefully I can throw quickly and knock half of these bad boys out today.

Part 2: inject transfer process
