Surprise!! Apparently our "inside scoop" was incorrect and Dickens Christmas will be a "go" after all--December 5 in Biltmore Village.
Here we are in earlier days and looking forward to another fun (and safe) experience. The planners have put several COVID restrictions in place so we are ready to stroll and sing at a social distance!

Bah humbug! Our Dickens in the Village event had to be canceled due to COVID precautions. Although we are disappointed, we understand and are glad the planners are keeping safety in mind.

We wish all our friends a holiday season filled with harmony!

Here we are in the carport which is open on 3 sides with fans on two (along with natural cross breeze) as we prepare (we hope) for December "Dickens Christmas in BIltmore Village". At this time it is scheduled to "go on as planned" so we know we need to get ready. So much fun to sing together again--despite some rusty chords!

We have really enjoyed testing the acoustics in our outside rehearsal venues. On Tuesday we tried Wendy's carport and figured that singing under Joe's boat attached to the ceiling definitely helped our resonance, but Sylvia's porch with her rocking chairs was # 1 in seating comfort! We are not sure what we'll do when cold temps arrive--maybe investigate igloos? Teachers are resourceful, so stay tuned.

Yesterday, we held a joyous reunion after 10 weeks of lockdown! For these occasions we will call ourselves "The MuffledTones," but singing "in the mask" just doesn't sound the same.

It is always fun to relive good times, and this event was one of the more memorable of 2016. Class Act was singing at the Grand Bohemian Hotel when Mike Wolfe (American Picker) passed through, and he took this quick video to share with his friends as a holiday greeting.

We all had to laugh when we saw that we had been billed as the "Mary Bell Quartet"! We still can't find Mary, though...

Class Act is trying to learn how to text in 4 part harmony but somehow the audio part just isn't working very well!!!

Nevertheless we are staying busy: Jane continues to be the amazing grandmother to her 4 , traveling to TN 2 x a week (as an "essential worker" ) to help her working daughter ; Pam has taken remodeling to new levels with stripping wallpaper and painting 2 rooms in her house; Sylvia has refinished all the wooden cabinets in her kitchen and bathrooms: and Wendy is rediscovering the magic to be found in house cleaning as well as learning how to use Facetime to make virtual home visits for Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue pet adopters.

When we are back together we hope we will still remember how to sing, too.

On Saturday (12/14)at Antler Hill Village, we were joined by Hudson, an unexpected "guest," who was celebrating birthday #1 at the Estate with his mom and dad. He never stopped smiling and neither did we!

Saturday was "Dickens" day in Biltmore Village which is one of our favorite events. We have to laugh at these photos which were taken in front of the fireplace in The Grand Bohemian Hotel lobby which was very hot since our Victorian garb adds a lot of insulation!!!! We truly felt like "chestnuts roasting!" We couldn't decide which photo to use so here are two as we try to act cool and collected....
