Wow. ✨ I am blessed to have these Art Garden creators and their creations so close to me in Riverview Station (just down at the other side of our building). ✨ Annie and Jack hosted a closing celebration of their (and Dillion’s) Medicine Heart Murals in the studio above their shop tonight. I’m shaken to the core with the positive soul energy I feel in the space these three have created and their art. Seriously, a gift to behold. Words cannot describe how I feel about this artwork, the space they’ve created, and these people. 🙏

It’s a sweet, quiet, and warm morning in Asheville. I’m enjoying this view of the farm and the Blue Ridge mountains before starting my day at the gallery. Yesterday I played with acrylics while people came in out of the rain. Today it will be writing and watercolors for me. ✨

Full Circle. Years ago Judith Loniak and I started our creative careers in Los Angeles and often showed at the same venues. I was delighted to find her in Asheville when I moved here 3 years ago. The journey to here has been a long and winding one. Through it all my heart, the place where soul resides, has been my guide. In life as in art, I choose to follow joy wherever it leads.
Color thrills me. Nature feeds me. Living challenges me to love more, to be more, to align more every day to the best of who I am.
Long ago I accepted that we are all students, all workers, all teachers to and for each other. My art expresses who I am and all that I love, not so much as a rendering but as a gift. To you. I am but a vessel.

I had such fun walking in the River Arts District this chilly morning before opening the gallery. Skateboarders were out having fun already, and one lone worker with a jack hammer breaking up concrete. Otherwise, it was just me and my iPhone … geese heading South overhead.

Our Story
Raphaella has been expressing as an artist for over thirty years, first with watercolor, and later adding acrylic on canvas. In her art, she interprets the beauty of life, and shares her love of the natural world and all living things in abstract expressions of color and form. Mastery of color is her forte. She believes color bathes us in beauty, blesses, and heals, and like beautiful music, color can lift our spirits to touch the divine.
All of her painting, including art with words, is a meditation of breathing in and breathing out, with her focus on being a vessel for light and her heart’s expression. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Raphaella now creates her Heartful Art in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina.
