We have been quiet over here at Gauche HQ as we take some time to reflect on the direction for the last 3 years and plan our heading for the future. We would love to thank all the bars and clubs we have worked with, especially Timo's House, who took us in and gave us a home.

Our mission has been to synthesize the art experience with personal expression, in a safe container for consciousness expansion and frankly, there is no way ANY bar could be the container I am looking for. Our events will be a little more off the beaten path, a little more free, and a little more important than they have been previously. This means that if you want alcohol you're going to have to bring it yourself, and that is fine by us.

We believe we are capable of looking after one another, and leading by example, but this freedom is not without responsibility. We must act as a community and care for one another or this simply can't work.

We have plans for outdoor events in the spring/ summer and I am always looking for private indoor venues for shows over the winter. If anyone knows of any warehouses, mansions, shipping containers with great sound insulation please let me know. All I need are a roof, and preferably heat, power and bathrooms but these are not insurmountable obstacles. We appreciate everyone who has supported us over the past 3 years.

We will continue resisting trends, we will continue booking based off of talent and not popularity, we will remain true to our mission and help fight the good fight of consciousness expansion, we will continue to lose money every show. We are excited to announce our monthly ambient/ downtempo event Lowpro Lounge the fourth Friday of each month at Noble Kava. We just got back from the Judge Mathis Show in Chicago, and we received a judgement in our favor for all money owed to us from Activation Music and Arts Festival.

I encourage young professionals to hold promoters to their word, taking legal action if attempts to connect with them on a human level yield no results. Always have simple contracts for agreements and expect to be paid per the conditions of it.

As a community if we allow unscrupulous promoters to exploit artists, we do ourselves a disservice. We need to shake these folks out the scene.

I personally will not play for a promoter that owes one of my friends money, even if it means I miss out on an opportunity. I refuse to support or work for scumbags, I don't care what I could gain from it. I respect myself, my art and my community too much to devalue the artists contributions to society in that way.

Please think about boycotting shady promoters, be vocal about people who wrong you to warn others, and we can co-create together in a symbiotic not a parasitic way. One Love. Stay Blessed.
