My mother-in-law and her friends at the Horseshoe Harbor Yacht Club in New York put together an adorable Prosecco party in honor of my book launch... and I don't think any of them knew what were getting themselves into 😅 To honor my mother-in-law and thank her for her efforts, I thought it'd be best to focus on the mother themes in my collection, which are pretty dark and depressing 🤷♀️ I wanted them to gain a fuller understanding of my appreciation for my new family. Needless to say, I shocked them 😂 I heard a lot of "You're so brave", and "I could never be so vulnerable so publicly", but as always a few women got me alone to tell me how personally they resonated with my poems, which always makes it worthwhile for me. I also heard a few of the other women say that they'd like to be more open with each other about these topics, so I hope that comes to fruition. Thanks ladies 🥂
