Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra

Region-wide high school youth orchestras in the Asheville area open by audition.

The Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra program serves more than 200 of the very best young musicians in the greater Asheville area. The program consists of two string orchestras and a beginner string group, two symphony orchestras, and one percussion ensemble. Students participate in masterclasses, retreats, workshops, tours and social events. They also receive high quality music instruction from

the region’s most respected professional conductors and musicians, and have the opportunity to perform throughout the community. Most importantly, students involved in ASYO gain a strong sense of discipline, increased confidence, and a deep appreciation for music and the arts.
