I-26 Construction? The Village Potters Clay Center at Westgate in Asheville is still easy to reach!

Construction on the I 26 Connector has changed the traffic pattern around Patton Avenue and Westgate, including the closure of the eastbound Patton Avenue flyover ramp to Westgate Parkway.

If you are driving east on Patton Avenue, simply follow the clearly marked detour signs for Westgate Parkway. The detour takes you a little out of your way, but it is not complicated and will bring you right to Westgate.

The most important thing: follow the signs! Please do not assume that the road closure means Westgate is difficult to reach or inaccessible. The detour is well marked, and The Village Potters remains open and easy to get to.

We have been through enough roadblocks already. We promise this one won’t keep you from getting to your clay!

Want to make better bottles?
Bottles are a classic form, but they come with their own set of challenges. August 29–30, join Julia at the Village Potters Clay Center for a two-day intensive workshop focused on vertical forms, effective collaring, proportion, and flow. You’ll refine your technique, explore how small changes can transform a form, and build a series of bottles that feel intentional and uniquely yours.
Two days. Lots of clay. Serious skill building.
Spots are limited. Come throw with us!
