Call for Actors!
The Montford Park Players, North Carolina’s Longest Running Shakespeare Festival, is seeking actors for a staged reading of Young Washington, written in 1972 by the late Mark R. Sumner, Sr.
This play tells the story of young George Washington and his command during the French and Indian War, and is sponsored by the Buncombe County Committee of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, State of North Carolina, as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
This staged reading will occur Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2:00 pm at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 100 Gay St in Asheville, and will be directed by our Artistic Director, Jason Williams.
All are welcome to participate – you don’t have to be an actor, and there are roles for both women and men!
There will be a couple of evening rehearsals during the week of Oct. 11, (to be determined) with the performance on Saturday, Oct. 17.
