Experience the award-winning dance education that continues to inspire and elevate young dancers! 💃🕺 Dancing since 1979, Center Stage offers classes in a variety of dance styles for children age 3 – 18 in Western North Carolina’s top rated dance facility. Unique among dance studios in the area, all members of our faculty hold degrees in dance or early childhood education, have danced with a professional company or maintain membership in Dance Masters of America. Our founder Michele Lee has remained committed to offering the highest quality dance education to students in western North Carolina for almost forty years. The success of Center Stage lies in maintaining positive relationships with our students and forming a life-long love of dance. Many of our former students now bring their own children to class at Center Stage to become part of our dance family!

✨ BRING-A-FRIEND WEEK IS ALMOST HERE! ✨

September 14–17, our dancers are invited to bring a friend to class and share the fun of dancing at Center Stage! 💗👯‍♀️

Friends do not need dancewear or dance shoes—comfortable athletic clothing they can move in is perfect! 🩰 They are also welcome to dance barefoot. For Hip Hop, please bring clean athletic shoes that have not been worn outside. 👟

📝 All friends must be registered by a parent/guardian before attending so we have their information and waiver on file.

We hope our dancers and families enjoy a well-deserved day off! ✨ Classes will resume on our regular schedule Tuesday, September 8.

🎓 Senior Spotlight • 5 of 5 🩷

We’re wrapping up our Senior Spotlight series by celebrating Class of 2026 graduate, Maggie Marshall!

Maggie began her dance journey as a competitive Irish step dancer before expanding her training into aerial arts. Four years ago, she joined the Center Stage family, where she continued to grow as both a dancer and performer.

Outside of the studio, Maggie has been actively involved in her community. She served on the student council at Classical Conversations and was a member of the Student Leadership Team at Arden Presbyterian Church. She was also the goalkeeper for the Trailblazers soccer team and participated in Trailblazers snow skiing.

This fall, Maggie will attend Anderson University to study Dance and continue pursuing her passion for the performing arts. She is especially grateful to Miss Jenn for welcoming, encouraging, and supporting her throughout her years at Center Stage.

Maggie, thank you for sharing your enthusiasm, dedication, and love of dance with the Center Stage family. We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and are excited to see what this next chapter has in store for you.

🎓 Senior Spotlight • 4 of 5 🩷

Today’s Senior Spotlight shines on Class of 2026 graduate, Meadow Holderfield!

Meadow has been dancing since the age of 5 and has been part of the Center Stage family for the past 9 years. During her time at the studio, she shared her love of performance by teaching Musical Theatre classes at Center Stage and was formerly a member of the Performing Company before fully pursuing her passion for musical theatre.

Outside of dance, Meadow has been involved in choir since kindergarten and continues to train vocally through lessons at Asheville Junior Theatre. Her past roles at North Buncombe High School include Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Bambi in Curtains, and Fiona in Shrek the Musical.

This fall, Meadow will attend Western Carolina University, where she plans to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre along with a minor in Dance. She would like to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged her ambitions throughout the years, especially her mom.

Meadow, thank you for sharing your talent, creativity, and passion for the performing arts with the Center Stage family. We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.

🎓 Senior Spotlight • 3 of 5 🩷

Next up in our Senior Spotlight series is Class of 2026 graduate, Emma Claire Holderfield!

Emma Claire has been dancing at Center Stage Dance Studio for 10 years and has been a dedicated member of the competition team for the past 7 years. Throughout her time here, she has continued to grow as both a dancer and a person, developing strong technique, artistry, and a deep love for contemporary dance, which remains her favorite style.

She is graduating from North Buncombe High School, where she has served as a peer mentor and has been an active member of both the National Thespian Society and DECA. Emma Claire is known for her commitment and the quiet consistency she brings to everything she does, both in and out of the studio.

This fall, Emma Claire will attend Western Carolina University, where she plans to pursue a double major in Psychology and Anthropology. She hopes to become a behavior analyst and build a career that blends her passion for people, learning, and helping others.

Emma Claire, thank you for your dedication and commitment to Center Stage over the past 10 years. It has been a joy watching you grow as both a dancer and a young woman. We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you.

If you have a dedicated dancer ready to take it to the next level, consider dance team or performing company! Being a part of a team is the perfect opportunity for dancers who love to perform and be on stage!

Competitive dance offers an opportunity to develop your child’s confidence in their dance skills while also teaching them discipline, sportsmanship, and goal setting that instills a sense of maturity that will last a lifetime!

Auditions for our competitive team are being held on May 21st. Kindergarten-3rd grade held from 4:00pm-5:00pm, 3rd grade-7th grade audition from 5:00pm-6:30pm, and 8th grade-12th grade audition from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
