Local Spotlight: From late-night jams at Be Here Now to sold-out shows at The Orange Peel, MJ Lenderman has grown up in the Asheville music scene. These days, he’s selling out shows in the very rooms where he once stood in the crowd.

Celebrating Asheville musicians is what we do – they’re the ones who help keep the city’s sound alive.

Thanks so much for all the support as we plan our next steps. Early estimates are coming in higher than we hoped – storms, material costs, and labor shortages are all adding up. We’ll have the real numbers soon and will keep you updated along the way.

In the meantime, please feel free to share or donate at the link in our bio. Let's rebuild SoundSpace, together.

A month ago today, we celebrated 77 years of our building. In 1948, it opened as Rabbit’s Motel & Café; a safe haven and gathering spot for Black travelers. Over the decades, it became a soul food staple and community hub, and today it lives on as SoundSpace@Rabbit’s – a creative space for artists and musicians.

Help us keep the legacy alive by helping us rebuild SoundSpace. Link in bio.

Helene shook us, but it didn’t stop us. Now we’re asking for your help to keep building what this place has always been about: access, equity, and soul.

This fundraiser isn’t just about fixing a wall – it’s about making sure artists and musicians still have space to create, heal, and be heard.
