Meet Womansong of Asheville Artistic Director and fearless leader: Dr. Allison Thorp! 🎶

Today we want to (re)introduce the talented woman behind the music at Womansong!

Dr. Allison Thorp joined Womansong as Artistic Director in July 2022, bringing her passion for choral music, education and community to our chorus.

In addition to her work with Womansong, Dr. Thorp serves as Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. There, she conducts the Concert Choir and University Chorus, teaches conducting and choral methods and supervises student teachers in choral music education.

Her expertise, enthusiasm and love of choral singing inspire us. We’re so grateful to have her leadership.
