Street Creature Puppet Collective Create things you wish existed! That is our motto at the Puppet Clubhouse. We welcome the community! We are primarily volunteers, doing fun stuff all year round.

Street Creature makes giant puppets and lanterns and performs with them for parades and festivals around Western NC. We also love to help individuals and community groups make their own giant puppets and lantern parades. ille Mall—unless it's a major holiday or the weather is really bad. Drop-in visitors are welcome between 7 and 8:30 pm. 3 Tunnel Rd., DM for directions (it's a little hard to find).

WOW! Wow, wow, wow! Our 2nd Annual Open Hearts Art Center Disability Pride Parade was an absolute BLAST! Asheville showed up! 🎉❤️💛🤍💙💚🖤

What an incredible celebration of disability pride and awareness, but also of joy, hope, love, inclusion, and a whole lot of FUN! We cannot wait to continue making this a yearly tradition with every single one of you.

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to cheer, walk, ride, wheel, dance and parade proudly alongside us today! And a huge thank you to everyone who celebrated from afar by sharing our posts and helping spread the word.

No Turtles Were Harmed (In the Making of This Turtle) Ice Cream, was dreamed up by the winner of our “Create Your Own Ice Cream with the Owners of The Hop” raffle in January. Get a taste and hang out with us next Friday:

Heading up to Firefly Gathering next week so we’re practicing some songs for the parade, (happening Saturday afternoon).
And look at all this willow, c/o the fine folks at Moss & Thistle Farm. Big thanks to them for providing bundles of withies over the last 3 years as we built out our lantern menagerie. They weave the most beautiful caskets from the willow they grow.
Stay tuned for several willow lantern workshops happening in the fall, and put 12/19 in your calendar for the Liberty Hanson-Wild Winter Solstice lantern parade in the RAD. ⭐️

A little lantern magic at the beautiful Toe Down Festival. ✨🦋

After making glowing butterflies with us, kids proudly carried their creations through the Street Creatures Lantern Parade, lighting up the evening with imagination, color, and joy.

Thanks to everyone who marched, crafted, and made the night so magical! ✨💖

Busy week for the Critters! Preparing for .to.altamont - the summer edition (Saturday at 6:30 pm at , before Othello).
Hand sewing 1 million pieces of fur onto our giant bear.
