There were days when orders had to be packed, calls had to be made, and designs had to be finalized… all with a baby nestled close. This was one of them.

Building a business while building a family is never easy, but this photo reminds me it's possible to hold both: the legacy I inherited and the little one who made me a mother.

Nutcracker Ballet Gifts has always been rooted in family. My dad started it in 1992. I carry it forward. And maybe one day, my children will find their own part in the story too.

It didn't start with a business plan. It started with cast shirts.

My dad was in the novelty tee business, and when I danced in The Nutcracker as a young girl, he made shirts for our cast, complete with his original design of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. They were thoughtful, heartfelt, and a hit.

Then came the idea: what if there were keepsakes and gifts made just for Nutcracker performances?

That spark, fueled by love, creativity, and a father's quiet devotion, became Nutcracker Ballet Gifts in 1992.

Years later, we became business partners, and in 2011 I took the reins. Now I carry his legacy forward, with deep gratitude for where it all began. And maybe, just maybe, wonder at where it might go next.

Hi again! It's been a minute, so let's catch up.

I'm Esmee, and I run Nutcracker Ballet Gifts, the family business my dad started in 1992 after watching me fall in love with The Nutcracker. What began with one cast t-shirt has grown into something truly special: a brand rooted in tradition, built for dancers, and loved by Nutcracker fans everywhere.

Today, I'm proud to carry that vision forward, creating pieces that help schools fundraise, families celebrate, and performers shine.

Whether you've been with us since the beginning or just found your way here, I'm so glad you're part of this story. Stay tuned, because soon I'll be sharing more about how it all began.
