⚡️ BABY COUSIN TAY TAY explores electronic music through the lens of a black femme from the South and creates a space to engage with sound in mind, body and spirit.
⚡️ If you’ve been aware of Asheville, NC, artist Ross Gentry’s career over the past 15-plus years, his choosing “Observance” as a moniker won’t raise an eyebrow. Gentry’s music is deep and immersive, and a defining characteristic of it all is a willingness to let sounds slowly uncurl at their own pace. With Observance, he’s still adept at building ornamented worlds, now using dub techno as their blueprint.
⚡️ Julianna Chioma is a Nigerian-American interdisciplinary artist based in Asheville. Working across painting, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, and illustration, her practice investigates transformation, embodiment, and the ways cultural memory is carried through material, myth, and narrative. Drawing from Nigerian folklore, cinema, and craft traditions, she creates psychologically charged works that exist between the familiar and the imagined.
⚡️ DaveyBake discovered a deep love for dub techno and roots dub working for record stores and going to club nights in NYC in the late 90s/ 2000s. It’s always an adventure taking a spin from his vast record collection. This night will bring waves of deep murky bass and eclectic rhythms and sounds.
