Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the day I first began working with glass.
10 years ago today, I showed up to Curtis Cecil's Intro to Borosilicate Lampworking class at Sawtooth School for Visual Art in Winston-Salem, and I lit a torch and melted glass for the first time.
In the time since, glass has literally saved my life.
Glass has enabled me to travel all over the country, and glass has led to most of the friendships that I have today.
I am grateful that I was able to celebrate this anniversary and my love of glassblowing today with a rental slot at Hearth Glass & Gallery, assisted by my beautiful and talented girlfriend, Amanda Brook, and surrounded with people who have been very supportive of me along the way.
I never imagined growing up that I would get to go on such a journey, and I am so grateful for the people and experiences that have helped me to get to where I am today.
I am so excited to see where glass will take me in the next 10 years.
