It's Friday, and what a week it's been!

There's been plenty of dyeing, rinsing, winding, and packing happening around the studio. A few new colorways are ready to make their debut, and there's even a beautiful new spinning wheel joining the family! Squeeeee!

Tomorrow we're heading to Blue Heron Farm for the Loudoun Farm Tour!

I'll be demonstrating the journey from fleece to yarn, sharing a little of the spinning process, and bringing along plenty of hand-dyed yarn and other fibery goodness.

If you're out exploring Loudoun County this weekend, come say hello!

Happy Wednesday!

I've caught a cold, and it's doing a pretty good job of zapping my energy.

But there are skeins to wind, so I'm puttering along at my own pace today.

With a little luck (and quite possibly a nap), these pretty Wool Earth skeins will make their way onto Etsy later this week.

Meanwhile, nature apparently hasn't quite decided whether it's autumn yet. We're heading into the 80s today!

A little wool, a little rest, and we'll see what gets done.

A little late for the Friday Reel, but I’m here.

No big plans tonight. Just some wool, the drum carder, and seeing where the fiber takes me.

Happy Fri-yayyyy.

Happy Friday Eve!

More importantly, happy birthday to Jonathon.

We started the morning with presents and then somehow ended up out in the garden picking marigolds.

Which, honestly, feels pretty appropriate for life around The Forager’s Fleece.

We gathered a whole bucketful, wandered around to see what else was still blooming, watched the bees doing their thing, and just enjoyed a really lovely October morning together.

Eventually those marigolds will make their way into the dye pot and become color.

But this morning they were just flowers from our garden, picked on Jonathon’s birthday.

And that feels pretty special.
