Kim Rishi has always loved music and theater and that love has led her to bring on Tina Smothers as our theater arts and vocal director at Studio Bleu. Meet our theater arts and vocal director.....
Tina Smothers is a sought after soloist, vocal coach, and theater instructor. She has been teaching voice for over 15 years and has taken lessons and training for over 18 years. She is comfortable teach

ing both contemporary and classical voice and she herself excels at both. She herself has won numerous awards and competitions including being a finalist in NATS and a Top Michigan Vocalist. Tina has been a sought after vocalist for many charity events and also major and minor league baseball games. Smothers has been sought after to do workshops for churches, schools, show choirs, and more. Her students have gone on to win many local competitions, have made it on American Idol, and have also been seen on shows like Rising Star and MTV’s Copycat. She is a songwriter who has helped write and co-produce numerous songs for other singers and her students. She is also a sought after vocal coach for recording sessions throughout the country and has worked with country, pop, r & b, gospel and opera singers. In addition, Tina has also been in numerous shows growing up and has always been active in theater productions. She is excited to also be bringing her knowledge of theater in our new theater arts program here at Studio Bleu!

ATTENTION IF YOU ARE SIGNED UP FOR STUDIO BLEU CAMPS-

Hey friends!! Does your child love to sing, dance, or act? Or maybe all three! If you’re signed up for a Studio Bleu summer camp next week, come be apart of our Sparks theatre production, JUNGLE BOOK KIDS!

Your child will have the opportunity to learn confidence, theatre training, and make best friends and even better memories. You’ll get to watch them in a fully staged production at the end of the week at Riverside High School, and only pay the difference between your price of summer camp and production tuition.

If you are unable to pay the difference please reach out to us and we will make something work. We don’t want anyone to be in a bind for next week and unsure if camps will happen!

For anyone registered for Jungle Book Kids!

Registration is now live for our SPARKS Company Summer Production of Jungle Book Kids! For Rising K to Rising 6th grade students!

Adapted from Disney’s beloved animated film and the works of Rudyard Kipling, the “man cub” Mowgli, bounds through the jungle and learns what it means to be human.

🚨LOCATION CHANGE!
We will now be meeting and rehearsing at, 44710 Cape CT Suite 126, Ashburn VA 20147. We will be rehearsing here Monday- Thursday. Friday we will be rehearing at Riverside High School which is the location for the 7pm show.

July 8th through the 12th with a show on the evening of the 12th at 7 pm! Camp will run from 9 am to 2 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 am until the conclusion of the show on Friday.

For the past nine years, I’ve poured my entire soul into building the theater end vocal program at Studio Bleu. It has been a second home for my son. It has become our family. It has been a second home to many of you. We will continue to be a family but it is time for new beginnings.

Ignite the Light will not be affiliated with Studio Bleu in any way. During the past year, I have been made aware of many business practices that I do not agree with, and that I cannot stand behind. Wanting to maintain the integrity of our program I am stepping away from Studio Bleu and working on finding our theater and vocal program a new home.

I am excited about what the future holds for us and know that this is not the end of the beginning. Thank you for being a part of our journey and we hope you continue on it with us. We love all of you because you are our family.

💜THIRD ROUND OF AUDITIONS TODAY💜

Auditions are open to students from 5th through 12th grade.

Audition Dates:
You will come to one time slot for the entire time.
Thursday, June 13th 7 to 9 pm

Students should prepare a one minute musical theater song to perform and also come prepared to learn choreography.

After we have chosen the cast, then we will decide on the show!

🎭 What is JTF? 🎭

JTF, The Junior Theatre Festival, is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theatre!

At JTF, student musical theatre groups from all over the world, join together for a weekend of performing, competition, feedback, workshops, professional development, previews of new Broadway shows, previews of new shows able to be performed by local theatres,  performances and Q&As with Broadway and TV MT performers and creators, fun opportunities to connect with and meet other student performers, and so much more!

We went to our first JTF in 2020, returned in 2022, 2023, and 2024 and students and faculty described it as educational, inspiring, tremendous fun, and overall AMAZING.

We are so excited to be returning MLK weekend in January to Atlanta and in February to Sacramento for JTF west!
