A customer reached out to me with a dilemma: her gorgeous, vintage embroidery cabinet, the heart of her creative space, was quickly becoming a tangled nest of thread! 🧵

She asked if I could re-design a custom solution to tame the clutter and make all those beautiful colors easy to access.
After some sketching and prototyping, I replicated these heart-topped, L-shaped yarn bobbins, and 3D printed a custom set for her cabinet. 🖨️✨

Sometimes the best collaborations start at a market stall! 🧵✨

​I had a wonderful customer approach me at a previous booth event with a unique request. They wanted a custom, durable card designed for an incredibly specific use: Card Weaving.

​The result is the first image—a custom-designed, 3D printed weaving card. It's built to last, features their custom crow/raven logo at the center, and is clearly marked with 'A', 'B', 'C', and 'D' on the corners for precise thread orientation. The dark outline and central hole were all part of the functional spec, balancing beautiful design with necessary utility. 🐦🎯

​For those who don't know, card weaving (or tablet weaving) is an ancient technique where a stack of these cards is rotated to manipulate warp threads, creating intricate, dense bands.

​The second image shows a stack of traditional cards on a loom. They create "sheds" for the threads (image 3) to create incredibly complex, geometric patterns (like the digital design pattern in the final image).

​My customer's new crow cards will soon be part of their own stack, helping them weave stunning pieces just like this. It was a joy to bridge the gap between custom graphic design, 3D printing, and ancient textile arts! 🎨🪡
