As we prepare to open Our Town in just a few hours...let's meet the final member of the incredible cast bringing this story to life.

Desiree Lara (she/her), Stage Manager, is a New Jersey native, born and raised in Vineland, and currently resides in Mays Landing. She previously starred in Wit as Dr. Vivian Bearing for the Village Players of Hatboro and in a staged reading of the new play, My Carmilla, in Philadelphia. She will next pursue The Play That Goes Wrong for the Oakwood Summer Theatre and the one-woman show Mala for the Dutch Country Playhouse in the fall. Desiree would like to thank director Bailey Dumlao for seeking her out for the role of the Stage Manager, an omnipresent character who’s above the trials and tribulations of life, and who notices that sole star in the sky straining away toward something great.

OUR TOWN opens TONIGHT! Let's continue meeting the cast!

Sophie Claire Cox (she/her), Emily Webb, is a theatre performer and choreographer. She recently graduated from West Chester University with a Theatre: Performance major and a minor in Dance. Her favorite credits include Jenna Rolan in Be More Chill, Muse of Dance in Eurydice, Anfisa/Irina and Masha u/s in Three Sisters (all at WCU), and a Ballerina in Cinderella (Surflight Theatre). She is excited to make her debut with Asbury Park Theater Company in her first professional leading role. Sophie is deeply grateful for the support of this talented cast and crew. She extends her heartfelt thanks to her family, Bailey Dumlao, and her acting instructors. Enjoy the show!

Aren Duffy is George Gibbs in OUR TOWN, opening tomorrow night!

Aren Duffy (he/him), George Gibbs, is happy to be making his APTCo debut! Aren has been performing professionally for over a decade. His work spans regional theatres across the country, including the Walnut Street Theatre, Hangar Theatre, Kingsmen Shakespeare Company, Broadway Theatre of Pitman, and the Eagle Theatre, where he was first introduced to Our Town playing Wally Webb ten years ago. In addition to acting, he works as an audition coach, has directed several educational theatre productions, and recently co-conceived and appeared in Unit 201B, a new play developed at the Finger Lakes New Works Festival. He holds a certification in stage combat from the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat and is an Equity Membership Candidate. Represented by Firestarter Entertainment Talent Agency. RoseMarie Franklin is Mrs. Julia Gibbs in APTCo's production of Our Town!

RoseMarie Franklin (she/her), Mrs. Gibbs, is thrilled to be acting amongst such amazingly talented people. Her recent favorite roles include Diana Barrie in California Suite and Mrs. Levine in Sheldon & Mrs. Levine, both at First Avenue Playhouse. She is grateful (and still somewhat gobsmacked) to have been cast in this iconic role and hopes that she does Mrs. Gibbs justice. Many thanks to Bailey for his creative direction and Jamie for her ability to keep us all wrangled and accountable (and snacks - let's not forget snacks). As always, she thanks her amazing wife, who didn't realize that she signed up for walking the dogs alone during the many nights of rehearsal.

OUR TOWN opens TOMORROW! Have you gotten your tickets yet? Let's meet the next member of this stunning cast:

Jeff Parsons (he/him), Doc Gibbs, returned to performing five years ago, after significant detours in academia and producing/stage management. Recent roles include John in Joy Meets Girl (Skyline Theatre Company), Ned Weeks in The Normal Heart (Players Guild of Leonia) for which he was nominated for an NJACT Perry Award, Edna in Hairspray (Middletown Arts Players), Sir Wargrave in And Then There Were None (Stageworks 237), and Barry in The Prom (Old Library Theatre). Jeff has produced and/or stage managed for many local theatres in New Jersey, as well as for the first middle school pilot production of Wicked Jr. at Teaneck Community Charter School. Thanks to his incredibly supportive family, and he’s grateful for this opportunity to work with this cast and creative team.

Continue meeting the cast of our upcoming production of Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN.

Meg Whalen (she/her), Mrs. Webb, is honored to return to the stage with Asbury Theater Company and the cast of Our Town. Having spent the last 8 years building a music career here in Asbury Park, Meg has become an established singer-songwriter, performing regularly throughout the Jersey Shore while recording and releasing her original music. Her most recent theater roles include A Girl’s Room at The Women’s Theater Company, Clybourne Park with The Strollers of Maplewood, and various productions with Ground Level Theatre. In 2025, Meg enjoyed time working as an extra in the movie Deliver Us From Nowhere, a memorable page in her Asbury Park love story.

Meet the next cast member of OUR TOWN: Jim Watson!

Jim Watson (he/him), Charles Webb, is delighted to make his debut with APTCo. Previous roles include Greg Pierotti (Laramie Project); Bogart (Play It Again, Sam); Andy (Lovers); Rev. Parris (The Crucible); Henry (Life X 3); Bruce (Beyond Therapy); Ernie (Rumors); and Larry (The Dream of the Burning Boy). He is an actor, director, producer, playwright, stage manager, Producing Artistic Director of Playwrights and Co at Gallery 619, and a founding member of the Good Trouble Singers. He lives in Toms River with his wife and two children.

Our Town opens this Friday! Let's keep meeting this incredible cast.

Evelynn Knox (she/her), Rebecca, a sophomore at Henry Hudson Regional High School, is thrilled to be a part of this amazing show! She placed first in the NJ Poetry Ourselves Competition in 2025 and was the NJ Poetry Out Loud State runner-up in 2026, also earning the Regional Champion title for 2025-26. Theater credits include Celia in As You Like It, Gonzala in The Tempest with A Little Shakespeare, Emily Webb in Our Town, at Pegasus Production Company, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and Cinderella in Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella Jr. with Red Bank Theater for Young Audiences. Evelynn has actively participated in masterclasses with industry professionals such as Tara Rubin and Kerry Butler, and in the New Jersey Teen Arts Musical Theater Program. She is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the National Jr. Honors Society, and studies voice with Cynthia Baum.

Anthony Cea (he/him), Wally Webb, and others cover George Gibbs, is very ecstatic and excited to be making his Asbury Park debut with Our Town. His past credits include Costard (Loves Labour’s Lost), Sebastian (The Tempest), Oliver/Corin (As You Like It), and Oberon(A Midsummer Night’s Dream).
