YOU’RE INVITED! This September + October, PlusOne - the inaugural three-weekend art party from Wooden Walls Public Art Project - will bring new murals, immersive installations, exhibitions, art tours, interactive experiences and more to Asbury Park. Inspired by the city’s amusement and music legacies, PlusOne PlusOne Art Party will turn Asbury Park into an open creative studio where art becomes a shared public experience.
At the heart of PlusOne is a simple idea: artists invite artists. Inspired by the tradition of bringing a “plus one,” to an event, participating artists have invited another artist into the project — creating an expanding network of collaboration, discovery and creative exchange.

All events are FREE to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Madeline Hollander’s “Rebus” for The Art of the Game, FIFA 2026, New York-New Jersey 2026

Asbury Park’s sculpture, named ‘Rebus’, was created by New York-based multidisciplinary artist and choreographer Madeline Hollander , whose work has shown at the Whitney Biennial and the Centre Pompidou. A work whose title means a puzzle solved through images. Hollander’s practice is grounded in systems, patterns, and the choreography of everyday motion.

It’s on view now outside the Asbury Park Transportation Center located at 111 Main Street (facing the intersection of Cookman Avenue and Main Street.

Art of the Game is presented by ARTS 14C Powerhouse Arts and ᴛʜᴇ ɴᴇᴡ ʏᴏʀᴋ ɴᴇᴡ ᴊᴇʀꜱᴇʏ 2026 ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ᴄᴜᴘ ʜᴏꜱᴛꜱ ᴄᴏᴍᴍɪᴛᴛᴇᴇꜱ.

The project marks the final philanthropic effort of legendary patron Agnes Gund, who connected ARTS 14C with leadership at MoMA, the Met, the Whitney and more.

We are so excited to partner with ARTS 14C and the City of Asbury Park to bring this dynamic sculpture to our City by the Sea.

⭐️Introducing the Asbury Park Mural Practice Wall⭐️

The City of Asbury Park is launching a new opportunity for local artists to experiment and learn in a public setting.

The Practice Wall is a project of the Asbury Park Public Art Commission, created to support Asbury artists who want to explore public art. It will serve as an open, rotating mural surface where artists can test materials, work at scale, and develop ideas without the commitment of a permanent installation or a competitive application.

This is a great opportunity for artists who have wanted to try something new, take a concept off paper and onto a wall for the first time, or prepare for the experience of painting large and in public. The wall will change after each artist, creating an ongoing dialogue between artists and the community. Artists will register to use it.

We’re currently gathering interest from local artists. If you’d like to participate, please email Michele Alonso at [email protected] with a few examples of your current work and a brief note about how you envision using the space. Interested artists will be invited to a Zoom meeting to learn more.
