it’s ok to make mistakes
ok to make the messes
to try again and get it wrong again, this next year too.
bc - if you don’t do it for you, who is going to?
but also, sometimes the evidence of mistakes - the leftover messes - are better turned into something else. burned up, keeping your whole house warm in transformation.
they’re transforming you.
let it be hot.
let it be heavy.
feel its real weight.
but let go. let it transform. let the process transform your old self into the self wiser, the self free from under the weight. out from under the masses of paper. and stuff. and mistakes. and the constant needs of others. and the beliefs that you can’t. because those thoughts were there to help you. to keep your old self safe. we can tell Fear, ‘thank you for sharing your concerns.’ but we can also tell fear that it is not the driver.
we can let go of the old heavy. because there will be new weights to learn, new weights to understand, new doors to walk through whose thresholds we cannot properly fit through if we try to carry all the evidence with us. the wisdom isn’t going anywhere.
you are one year older.
one year wiser.
one year more prepared for this coming season.
it took two hours to burn all that paper I cleaned out of the studio yesterday. just as much got recycled in december. and I know there is still more. but we have the time that we have. its time is later.
it took so long. because too much of anything is too much. too much fire is too hot. too dangerous. too much fuel smothers it out.
so. also also. let it be heavy, and let it be a little bit scary hot … but also also … let it take the time that it takes.
