Today was my last day at . It was wonderfully bittersweet. So many kind words and thoughtful gifts and lovely farewells for now. I may not be a teacher in the building anymore but I am a part of this community, and certainly plan to attend future productions (like the Importance of Being Ernest Oct 22 & 23) as well as graduation. And I've been told I must bring baby Graham by to visit and I fully intend to. Thank you all for an incredible *almost* ten years. I am so proud to have called that place home for so long. As with all of my former students, I'm here, if you need anything let me know and I'll do what I can! You are all amazing and I am so, so lucky to have made art with so many of you over these past years.

I kept meaning to do one of these but just never found a reason to until now. It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that I'm leaving Eca. My mental health has been on the decline since earlier this year, between the pandemic, grad school, teaching, a miscarriage and our son on the way, I am in a place where I need to step away from the classroom in order to focus on healing and preparing for baby.

I am so insanely proud of the work I got to do because of Eca. It will always be a special place in my heart. I've spent nearly 10 years in that place. I grew up with my first batch of students. We went from a few intro to music classes and a bootleg not les mis production in the basement to an instrumental music program, honor choir, performing arts classes, leadership courses, our theater company and the amazing work we created there, the beautiful work we managed to do during a pandemic and then begininning to this year. We all have so much to be proud of, including surviving the last two years.

Stories matter, your mental health matters. For any and all of my former students, I'm still here for you. Please stay in touch, please share your triumphs, and reach out if there's something I can do for you, I'll do my very best to try and make whatever you need happen. Take care of yourselves.

And make art my friends, because it matters.

Ms Graham is currently up at finishing her masters! She got the opportunity to music direct a Cabaret! Check out this lovely piece of theater at the Cu Boulder University Theater starting this Friday and closing Oct. 3rd. (There is a mild content warning, some instances of rough language language and drug use references). If you're one of Ms. Graham's students bring your program for extra credit!

So excited to have had Denver Center for the Performing Arts come and do for our students at The Early College of Arvada ! Such a cool experience, so glad our kids got to see some theater after all the craziness the last nearly two years have been! Thank you so much to the actors, technicians, and production staff who made this possible for our kids!
