BVOCAL joined the De-ICE Action Network calling on Waltham-based Boston Dynamics to say, "Don't sell your robot dogs to ICE!" The Rachel Maddow show featured the standout in its ongoing coverage of protests around the country. Perhaps you know the tune of this classic dog song:

How much is that doggie in the window?
ICE is hoping that it is for sale.
Spot is the name that it's been given.
It has four legs but no head or tail.

Don't sell Spot to ICE, they can't be trusted
With a powerful robotic hound.
Say no to their evil operations,
And tell ICE to get out of town!

Around the country, the resistance is building unity and power by raising our collective voice in song. Join us for a Singing Resistance Community Sing on August 24, 7-9pm at Friends Meeting Cambridge to learn some of the new movement songs and to re-energize for the work ahead. Spread the word to both your activist networks and to your singing networks. All voices are welcome!

Throughout history, resistance and liberation movements have sung. People’s movements are more unified, more resilient, and more powerful when we sing, and today’s resistance is no different. The Singing Resistance is one way for singers to get activated and for activists to fortify their courage and sustain hope for the long haul — while having fun!
